About
Hey all – I am in my junior year and I am a biology major at a small New England liberal arts university. In addition to my studies in biology, I am following the pre-med ‘regimen’ and taking courses in the physical sciences as well as some humanities courses.
Throughout my short career as a pre-med, I have failed to find useful online sources that provide practical and frank tips that I could implement in my quest for gaining entrance into a medical school. By creating this blog, I hope that I will provide a forum for constructive discourse for those of us out there who are chasing this dream.
Please feel free to add your two-cents to any and all items posted.
Please no solicitations, I get enough of them already!
Hello
Wikio, an aggregator of online news and blogs, has recently kicked off our own blog ranking and blogs like Scienceroll.com are rapidly adding badges featuring their ranking.
Our Top Blogs ranking features a bunch of different categories; for instance, the “Health” category where your blog ” Life of a Pre-Med” stands at number 147. Check out by clicking directly on this link: http://www.wikio.com/blogs/top/health
So how does our Top Blogs ranking work?
The position of blogs in their Wikio ranking depends on the number and value of links that other blogs point toward them. The value of these links depends on the ranking of the blog publishing them. So in our algorithm, the value of a link published on a highly ranked blog is more important than a posted link on a blog with a lower ranking. This way, we hope to produce a ranking more representative of blogs’ influence.
If you are interested by the badge just let me know and I’ll give you the code.
Cheers,
Sarah
