Professor Speaks Out Against High Textbook Prices

20Jul07

The fact that textbook prices are atrociously expensive is not news to us students. If I can recall correctly, my Spring semester bookstore bill was in the ballpark of $1500. I take mostly science classes, so some of the heavier texts cost a bundle. Nonetheless, for a student with limited income this is a crime!

Some of my professors don’t have required textbooks for their classes, and instead rely on PowerPoints and journal articles to convey the material. This is exactly what one professor is doing at Utah Valley State College, and he is taking his opinions about high textbook prices public.
